From a young age, I’ve wanted to do things to help others. Coming from a council estate and being the daughter of a disabled man, I saw how it was to feel excluded and at odds with the world. That drove me into social-impact work and I went on to have a very fulfilling 20-year career in the not-for-profit sector (education, housing and charities) working with all kinds of people in all kinds of places.
Today, I use coaching, training, and facilitation to help leaders, founders and organisations with a social conscience to make impact without sacrificing themselves in the process.
I’m passionate about the coaching industry and raising standards within it. I’m both accredited and volunteer with the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC). I train and mentor coaches and am currently training to be a coach supervisor.
I am the host of the podcast Do Good and Do Well which explores how to increase social impact and improve personal wellbeing.
Some nice things people have said about me:
“Sarah helped me work through my thinking as I was moving into a new phase of life. She was incredibly helpful and gave me the focus I needed to keep my head out of the weeds and on the horizon. Thank you.” Victoria Papworth, CEO at Social and Community Capital
“I found having Sarah as a coach immensely helpful because her questions were both gentle and provocative and helped me to begin to identify how I could make my life and work more manageable and less gruelling! Her wit and compassion, and her deep understanding of the demands of the kind of work we do through her own lived experience meant that I knew I could ask her questions and her answers would be both wise and practical. The experience has helped me begin to make the changes I need to ensure that the way I work and live moving forward is both sustainable and joyful. Changemakers- we need this!” Bernadette Russell, author, and kindness campaigner
“I was lucky enough to participate in a programme of Sarah’s during the summer. Her help and support has got me back on track and I have recently been appointed in a new role. I would very much recommend Sarah and her calm approach.” Katy Whelan, Investment Director and CFO at Human Nature.
