I’m Jade, mother of two, former wealth manager and now Founder of TALO. I set up the business in 2021 off the back of my own personal experience.

I worked in Finance for 10 years, qualified as CISI wealth manager. I advised high net worth families and then launched a Women’s Private Office which aimed to make investment advice more accessible to women. I grew and managed £100m of assets for female clients from all over the world.

I went on maternity leave with my first child and found the transition from a very fast paced, structured working environment to being at home with my new-born very challenging.

I met some incredible women whilst I was on maternity leave, all feeling the same; unprepared, isolated, and unsure how to navigate their careers and this next chapter successfully.

I have always been passionate about giving women the opportunity to have financial independence and identity. A big part of that comes from your work. I strongly believe that starting a family shouldn’t be the start of the end of your career.

I started holding events at my home, trying to gain a deeper understanding of what companies were doing and how women were truly feeling.
Where was it going wrong? The outcome was clear. Companies had no blueprint of how to get it right. There was also a huge disconnect between the perceived impact of what was being offered verses the true impact.

I tested pairing these women up with mentors who were in the same industry and who had navigated parental leave successfully to see what the outcome would be. The feedback was incredible!

I wanted to expand this same authentic experience to cover all the transitions that working women face during the lifecycle of their careers. From parental leave, to fertility, baby loss, perimenopause and menopause. I wanted help women navigate these from a professional standpoint, so they could keep their careers thriving as they go through them.

So, I founded TALO, a peer-to-peer mentoring platform for working women who are navigating life transitions.

Mentors are from the same industry but crucially not from the same company and have recently been through the same experience. The relatability between mentors and mentees and the authentic approach is what makes TALO unique. People helping people.

Alongside the peer-to-peer mentoring, we are a trusted partner to our corporate clients to help develop & implement best practice. Through HR and line manager training, workshops, & bespoke and benchmarked insights, TALO can support embedding the right framework for companies to support their female talent. We are proud to be working with a range of business such as Northern Rail, M&S, Sage, Ultimate Products, Elior, Texel Insurance Group, Powerscourt and many more.

We have built a community of incredible Mentors, who are senior women across different sectors. They are passionate about the mission and want to make the experience better for other women. They receive TALO mentor training that gives them tools to lead, communicate and mentor with ease.

I am so excited for what’s to come for TALO. Id love to hear from anyone that is interested in being a mentor or exploring how TALO can support their business.
